Plan to visit to your pediatrician's office regularly when your child is well. Children tend to be more comfortable and at ease during these visits. That can make it easier for your doctor to make a thorough check on your child's health and development. Schedule visits for newborns and infants often during their first weeks and months so that your doctor has a chance to address concerns right away. Once a child reaches age 3, annual visits are recommended.
Well-child service may include:
- Height and weight check
- Skin check
- Heart and lung check
- Vaccinations at recommended ages
- Time to talk with your child's pediatrician
